A GYM owner in Co. Antrim has been fined £1k after being found unlawfully in possession of weight-loss drugs. Search at Wicklow quarry in connection with missing Irish women called off

A SEARCH of a disused quarry in Co. Wicklow in connection with the disappearance of two Irish women in the 1990s has come to a close. Drugs worth €1.54m seized after car stopped and searched in Limerick

DRUGS worth €1.54m has been seized following a series of searches on cars and a property in Limerick. Limerick Gardaí stopped a vehicle in the city and conducted a search of the vehicle yesterday (February 25). During the course of the search officers discovered suspected cocaine worth an estimated €70k. Taoiseach issues public apology to institutional abuse survivors

On this day in 2008, 26-year-old Irish-American Danica Patrick became the first woman to win the Indy Japan 300. This made her the first female winner in IndyCar racing history. Just three years prior, she had made her Indy 500 debut in 2005, where she finished in fourth place. Only the fourth woman to compete in the Indy 500, she became the first woman ever to lead a lap (she led for 19 laps) in the 500 mile race. Later in 2005, she earned Rookie of the Year honors and finished 12th overall. She has appeared twice in Sports Illustrated.
