Five men arrested as part of investigation in dissident republican activity are released

FIVE men who were arrested in Belfast as part of an investigation into violent dissident republican activity have been released. The men, aged 26, 27, 38, 44 and 51, were arrested in the Poleglass area of west Belfast on Thursday evening under the Terrorism Act. Couple tied up during Co. Derry burglary

A COUPLE were left badly shaken after being tied up during a burglary in Co. Derry. The man in his 70s and the woman in her 60s were forced to hand over cash and other items before the offenders made off in the couple’s car. Irish community leader retires from charity he has served for 30 years

On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
