Extra daily ferry service added to route connecting Ireland and Wales

€100 fee for popular Irish obituary website takes effect this month

A CHARGE of €100 per death notice posted on RIP.ie will take effect this month. Funeral confirmed for couple killed in St Stephen’s Day collision

THE funeral details have been confirmed for a couple who died after being struck by a car on St Stephen’s Day. Dubliners Anto and Georgina Hogg (née Moore) died after being involved in the hit-and-run collision in Blanchardstown. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
