Man assaulted and threatened in racially-motivated hate crime in Belfast

A MAN has been assaulted and threatened in Belfast in what police are treating as a racially-motivated hate crime. PSNI renew appeal for information on American woman missing since May

THE PSNI has issued a renewed appeal for information on the whereabouts of an American woman who has been missing for almost five months. Sofi Johansson, 56, was last seen in the Banbridge area of Co. Down in May. Offensive weapons and €280,000 worth of heroin seized in Dublin

GARDAÍ have seized £280,000 worth of suspected heroin as well as a number of offensive weapons following searches in Dublin. On this day, Eamon de Valera abolished the Oath of Allegiance, a provisional aspect in the Anglo-Irish treaty of 1921. This provisional aspect originally required all members of the Irish parliament to take an oath declaring their allegiance to the King. This date also marked when de Valera withheld land annuities from England.
