Three arrested in relation to 1975 murder of RUC officer

THREE men have been arrested as part of an investigation into the murder of an RUC officer almost 50 years ago. Constable Robert John McPherson was shot dead in an ambush in Dungiven, Co. Justice Minister Helen McEntee thanks thousands of new citizens for ‘contribution’ to life in Ireland

IRELAND’S Justice Minister Helen McEntee has welcomed 4,800 migrants who have become citizens of Ireland this week. On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
