IRELAND’S Justice Minister Helen McEntee has welcomed 4,800 migrants who have become citizens of Ireland this week. Their new status has been formalised at citizenship ceremonies held in Killarney, Co Kerry yesterday and today. Funeral confirmed after body of missing Irishwoman Teresa Tannian found

THE SEARCH for a missing Irishwoman has been stood down after a body was found in Co. Galway. Teresa Tannian was last seen at her home in Kilina at around 7pm on May 25. Theft of Irish language street signs being treated as ‘sectarian hate crime’

On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
