Brian Ruane

BNY Mellon

Brian is CEO of BNY Mellon Government Securities Services, Collateral Management, Credit Services, Real Estate & Leasing and a member of BNY Mellon’s Executive Committee. Government Securities Services is a subsidiary of BNY Mellon, formed in 2017 to enhance the capabilities, governance, and resiliency of U.S. government securities and U.S. tri-party repo market. In the aftermath of the financial crisis, Brian was a key voice on the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Tri-party Repo Infrastructure Reform Task Force. Born in the U.S. and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Brian attended Colaiste Eanna, Dublin before admission to the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in the U.K. Brian received his M.B.A. from Hofstra University, Zarb School of Business, New York. Brian is a member of the board of directors of the Irish America Partnership. He also serves on the North American Emeritus Board of the UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business and Hofstra University’s Zarb School of Business. In September 2021, Brian joined Ireland for Finance International Advisory Committee. Brian’s father Anthony is from County Mayo and his mother Rose Reilly is from County Longford. Brian is married to Anna Lynch from Dublin and they have four children.
