Colin Quinn

Brooklyn-born comedian Colin Quinn recently starred in his second one-man show on Broadway, the acclaimed and popular Colin Quinn: Long Story Short, directed by Jerry Seinfeld.

Since 1984, Quinn has been making audiences laugh through his comedic writing, stand-up, and roles in television shows, movies, and on Broadway stages. Quinn made his television debut in 1987 as co-host of the game show Remote Control on MTV.

He is best known for his five years on Saturday Night Live from 1995 to 2000. On SNL, Quinn gave portrayed the recurring characters Lenny the Lion and Joe Blow. He also led the segments “Colin Quinn Explains the New York Times” and “Weekend Update.”

During his time on SNL, Quinn also starred in his first one-man show on Broadway, Colin Quinn: An Irish Wake.
He takes pride in his Irish heritage – as he told the Irish Voice, “I’m only a comedian because of the Irish.” Quinn’s grandparents emigrated from Belfast in the 1920’s and he grew up in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn, which was once filled with first-generation Irish families.

Quinn has had roles on the big screen in films like A Night at the Roxbury and Grown Ups. He co-wrote and co-produced the film Celtic Pride, based on two passionate Boston Celtics fans.
Quinn still keeps to his stand-up roots and performs regularly on the smaller stage at the Comedy Cellar in New York City.
