
Kathryn Higgins
Cabinet Secretary
Kathryn `Kitty’ Higgins works in the White House as Assistant to the President and as Cabinet Secretary, a most demanding post. Previously, she served as Chief of Staff in the Office of the Secretary of the Department of Labor since the beginning of the current administration.
Kathryn Higgins has honed her skills in the political arena for some 20 years. She began her career at the Department of Labor in 1969, and in 1978 she moved to the White House where she worked as Assistant Director of the Domestic Policy Staff. Three years later she became the minority staff director to the Senate Committee on Labor and human Resources, and in 1986 she signed on as Administrative Assistant to Representative Sander Levin.
A graduate of Mount Marty College in South Dakota, Kathryn Higgins earned her B.S. from the University of Nebraska in 1969. She was married to the late William Higgins and has two children.
