Kevin Bar
Hill County Studios
Kevin Bar is a creative and media executive with 20 years of experience across studio operations, content production, and global business strategy. He currently serves as COO of Hill Country Studios, a film studio development in Austin, Texas, where he leads strategic planning, operations, and business growth.
Prior to joining Hill Country in 2022, Kevin spent four years with Netflix Studios as part of the global studio operations leadership team, overseeing the company’s production hubs in the U.S, Canada and the UK. Before Netflix, he served as Vice President of Pinewood International, managing the global company’s Atlanta studio while building a one-stop-shop production services model that extended beyond traditional studio facilities. Earlier in his career, he worked with Viacom International in New York and London, managing international strategy and content operations for multiple major brands.
Kevin also takes pride in a deep family history that traces back five generations – his great-great-grandfather Patrick W. Ryann immigrated from Newport, Ireland. His great-great-great-grandfather, Thomas G. Clancy, emigrated from Ireland and had a farm near Galena, Illinois. He volunteered with the Union Army and served until the end of the war. Records indicate he was friends with Ulysses S. Grant, who was also from Galena. Kevin’s always valued his family’s close connection to their Irish roots, which has sustained a shared love of heritage, storytelling, the occasional spirited Irish gathering, and the film Leap Year.
