Richard is global head of Repo Trading, global co-head of Short Macro Trading, and co-head of US Interest Rate Products (IRP). He is a member of the Firmwide Asset Liability Committee and the Global Banking & Markets – Public Risk Committee. Richard joined the firm as a vice president in 2015, was named managing director in 2017 and partner in 2020.
A member of the Treasury Markets Group, since 2022, Richard serves on the external advisory board for the J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics at the University of Galway. Previously, Richard was a member of the Alternative Reference Rate Committee, which is a group of private market participants convened by the Federal Reserve Board and the New York Fed to help ensure a successful transition from US dollar LIBOR to a more robust reference rate, the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
Richard, who was born in Newport, County Mayo, earned a BSc in Financial Mathematics and Economics from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2005 and an MSc Finance from Warwick Business School in 2006. He is an active supporter of the GAA and Irish philanthropic organizations, including the American Ireland Funds, the Children’s Medical Research Foundation, and the Irish Arts Center.
