Woman hospitalised following dog attack in Co. Cork

A WOMAN has been hospitalised after being attacked by a dog in Co. Cork. The incident occurred at a residential property in the Ballyvolane area of the city on Friday. The woman, aged in her 30s, was taken to Cork University Hospital for medical treatment. "The dog involved was subsequently euthanised by a vet," read a statement from gardaí. Barry Yelverton introduced the bill that will become Yelverton’s Act on this day in 1781. The bill was a modification to Poyning’s Law, which was already in place, and stated that all laws passed by both houses of the Irish parliament should be forwarded to England to become law by royal assent. This took the power to amend laws away from the Irish privy councils.
