RESEARCHERS in Ireland and the UK have worked together to create a new tool which will help spot a rare form of blood cancer which shows up on the skin. New law requires learner drivers to sit driving test within four years

NEW legislation has been passed in Ireland requiring learner drivers to take their test within four years of receiving their permit. The move closes a loophole which saw learner drivers able to repeatedly renew their permits without ever taking a physical driving test. Irish Government approves establishment of Office of Veterans Affairs

AN Office of Veterans Affairs will be established in Ireland the Government has confirmed. TÁNAISTE Simon Harris has pledged the full support of the Irish government in the ongoing campaign for justice in the unsolved death of Michaela McAreavey. Barry Yelverton introduced the bill that will become Yelverton’s Act on this day in 1781. The bill was a modification to Poyning’s Law, which was already in place, and stated that all laws passed by both houses of the Irish parliament should be forwarded to England to become law by royal assent. This took the power to amend laws away from the Irish privy councils.
