POLICE are treating an attack on a Belfast taxi driver who was punched and spat at as a racially-motivated hate crime. TWO people have died and four people have been injured following a road traffic collision in Co. Donegal. Man bailed following alleged spiking incident in Belfast

A MAN arrested in connection with an alleged spiking incident in Belfast has been released on bail. Police received a report at around 11.15pm on Friday that a drink had been spiked in High Street in the city centre. Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa, a prominent Fenian leader and member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, passed away in New York on June 29, 1915. Born in Co. Cork, Rossa was arrested and in 1865. He was charged with planning a Fenian Rising. He served out his sentence in England and after realizing he could not return to Ireland in exile, Rossa moved to the U.S. where he joined Clan Na Gael and the Fenian Brotherhood. A memorial to Rossa Stands in St. Stephen’s Green.
