Investigations underway as three people killed in separate collisions in Co. Meath

THREE people were killed in one day in two separate incidents on Irish roads in Co. Meath. Two men died when the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a three motorcycle collision in Bellaney, Oldcastle at around 4.40pm on July 28. Tributes to ‘true sportsman’ killed in collision in Co. Cork

TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who was killed in a collision on a road in Co. Cork. Finbarr Coleman died when the car he was a passenger in was involved in a single vehicle collision in Ballynamona, Kinsale at around 1.30am on July 27. June 4, 1820

On June 4, 1820, Henry Grattan, outstanding orator and dominant figure in the Irish parliament, died. Grattan entered the Irish Parliament in December 1775. He was the leader of the Patriot movement that won legislative independence for Ireland in 1782. Later he headed opposition to the union of England and Ireland. Grattan spent the last 15 years of his life on the British House of Commons after being elected in 1805.
