POLICE have appealed for information after a man sustained head injuries in a brawl in Belfast city centre. Museum appeals for information to solve mystery of Bronze Age axe heads

A MUSEUM has appealed to the public for information on two Bronze Age axe heads that it received anonymously in the post. The axe heads, dating from around 2150-2000 BC, were sent to National Museum of Ireland (NMI) at the end of June. June 4, 1820

On June 4, 1820, Henry Grattan, outstanding orator and dominant figure in the Irish parliament, died. Grattan entered the Irish Parliament in December 1775. He was the leader of the Patriot movement that won legislative independence for Ireland in 1782. Later he headed opposition to the union of England and Ireland. Grattan spent the last 15 years of his life on the British House of Commons after being elected in 1805.
