A CONCRETE manufacturer has been fined for polluting an eight kilometre stretch of river in Northern Ireland. Tyrone firm Joseph Barrett and Sons Limited, which is located in Eglish Road, Dungannon, was convicted of pollution offences at a hearing at Omagh Magistrates’ Court this week relating to an incident last year. Following his win in the California and South Dakota primaries, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy made a speech addressing his campaign supporters at the Ambassador Hotel in LA, California. In an effort to make it to a press conference on time, Kennedy decided to pass through the kitchen, where he was shot by Sirhan Bishara Sirhan. He sustained three gun shot wounds and was immediately rushed to The Good Samaritan Hospital. Despite surgery, Kennedy died the next morning on June 6, 1968.
