Criticism over spread of misinformation following stabbing of garda in Dublin

A SENIOR Garda figure has criticised the spread of misinformation following the stabbing of a probationer garda in Dublin city centre on Tuesday. Barry Yelverton introduced the bill that will become Yelverton’s Act on this day in 1781. The bill was a modification to Poyning’s Law, which was already in place, and stated that all laws passed by both houses of the Irish parliament should be forwarded to England to become law by royal assent. This took the power to amend laws away from the Irish privy councils.
