AN investigation has been launched after wreaths were stolen from a war memorial in Co. Tyrone. Arrest made after cannabis worth €2m seized in Cork

A MAN has been arrested after cannabis worth €2.1m was seized at the Port of Cork. Barry Yelverton introduced the bill that will become Yelverton’s Act on this day in 1781. The bill was a modification to Poyning’s Law, which was already in place, and stated that all laws passed by both houses of the Irish parliament should be forwarded to England to become law by royal assent. This took the power to amend laws away from the Irish privy councils.
