Victim waives anonymity as former Northern Ireland fire chief jailed for sexual abuse

A FORMER Chief Fire Officer for Northern Ireland was jailed today for sexual offences against an underage girl. Gary Thompson, of Rogan Wood in Newtownabbey, Co. Man arrested on suspicion of Kyran Durnin’s murder as two homes searched

GARDAÍ investigating the murder of eight-year-old Kyran Durnin have arrested a man in connection with the case. The man has been arrested “on suspicion of murder” gardaí confirmed in a statement this morning. He is being held at a Garda station in the east of the country, they added. THE funeral of showband legend Dickie Rock has taken place in Dublin today. The 88-year-old, from Cabra, died on December 6.
