Man charged with murder of Billy Keegan in east London

A MAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of Billy Keegan. The 50-year-old was found with a stab wound in the corridor of a block of flats in Chapel Road. Former Irish Ambassador to Britain appointed chair of Druid Theatre

A FORMER Irish Ambassador to Britain has been appointed the new chair of the Druid Theatre. Adrian O’Neill joined the board of directors at the Galway-based theatre in June. Police name murder victim as arrest made

POLICE have named a man who was murdered in Co. Tyrone over the weekend. Kyle McDermot was assaulted during an altercation in Strabane at around 11.30pm on the evening of Sunday, October 6. Pupils treated in hospital after school bus overturns in Northern Ireland

FOUR pupils were in need of hospital treatment after the school bus they were travelling in overturned in Co. Down. June 30, 1932

On this day, Eamon de Valera abolished the Oath of Allegiance, a provisional aspect in the Anglo-Irish treaty of 1921. This provisional aspect originally required all members of the Irish parliament to take an oath declaring their allegiance to the King. This date also marked when de Valera withheld land annuities from England.
