Tributes to cyclist killed in collision with car as funeral set to take place

A CYCLIST who was killed in a collision with a car in Kildare will be laid to rest tomorrow. Gar Fennelly, of Bennekerry in Co. Carlow, died when the bicycle he was riding collided with a car at Knocknagee at around 11.20am on Easter Sunday (March 31). ‘Frightening ordeal’: Gunman flees shop with cash, cigarettes and vapes in morning robbery

POLICE in Northern Ireland are appealing for witnesses after an armed man robbed a shop in east Belfast this morning. The man entered the shop in Orangefield Lane at around 7am today, armed with a gun, and demanded cash from staff. He fled the shop on foot, with cash, cigarettes and vapes. Human Rights Committee calls for Britain’s controversial Troubles law to be repealed

Investigation after petrol bombs thrown and van torched during Easter Monday parade

AN investigation has been launched after a parade in Co. Derry erupted into violence and disorder yesterday afternoon. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
