‘We are heartbroken’: Tributes following death of Irish woman attacked in New York bar

TRIBUTES have been paid to an Irish woman who was stabbed while working in a bar in New York. Longford native Sarah McNally was attacked at the Ceili House Bar in Maspath, Queens on Saturday, March 30. Appeal for information after house set alight in Easter Sunday arson attack

DETECTIVES have appealed to the public to come forward with information after a house was set alight in Co. Derry on Easter Sunday. After the start of the Irish Rebellion of 1798 on May 24, the United Irishmen were defeated by British forces on this day in 1798. Historically known as the Battle of Vinegar Hill, almost 1,000 rebels lost their lives in this battle, which marked a turning point and eventual loss in the Rebellion of 1798.
