A NEW state-of-the-art government data centre is set to be completed by the end of this year, Ireland’s Digitalisation Minister Emer Higgins has confirmed. Work began on the site, in Backweston, Co. Young man dies after getting into difficulty while swimming in Co. Kerry

A YOUNG man has died after getting into difficulty while swimming in Co. Kerry. The incident occurred in the River Flesk in Killarney at around 3.30pm on Tuesday. Barry Yelverton introduced the bill that will become Yelverton’s Act on this day in 1781. The bill was a modification to Poyning’s Law, which was already in place, and stated that all laws passed by both houses of the Irish parliament should be forwarded to England to become law by royal assent. This took the power to amend laws away from the Irish privy councils.
