€2m funding earmarked to teach Irish language in UK and EU universities

A FUNDING pot of nearly €2m has been allocated to support the teaching of Irish at universities in Europe and the UK. Ireland’s Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary confirmed today he has approved up to €681,146 per academic year for the period 2025-26 to 2027-28, which amounts to €1.979m in total.
