GARDAÍ have appealed for information after a man was injured in a shooting in Dublin. The incident occurred at a residence in the Shancastle Close / Shancastle Avenue area of Clondalkin, Dublin 22 at around 9.15pm on Friday, December 20. Young woman dies in suspected hit-and-run in Co. Limerick

A YOUNG woman has died following a suspected hit-and-run incident in Co. Limerick. According to gardaí, the collision occurred at the entrance of a private property in Rathkeale at around 12.15pm on Saturday. TWO men have died following separate road traffic collisions in Northern Ireland. In the first incident, a pedestrian was fatally injured after a collision with a vehicle on John Street in Dungannon, Co. Tyrone at around 6.30pm on Friday. Man released as woman found dead in Co. Wexford is named locally

A MAN arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Co. Wexford has been released. The Cathedral of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary, the first U.S. Catholic cathedral, is dedicated in Baltimore. The cathedral, now a Basilica, was envisioned by John Carroll, America’s first bishop, who was the founder of the American Catholic hierarchy and Georgetown University. It was designed by renowned architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe. Carroll, whose father was born in Ireland, laid the cornerstone of the cathedral on July 7, 1806, but he did not live to see its completion, having died on December 15, 1815. During its first year over 200,000 people visited the cathedral. Pope John Paul II made two visits to the cathedral.
