DETECTIVES have made an arrest after a man was stabbed in the neck as he walked through the city of Belfast in the early hours of yesterday morning. A MAN has been jailed for life for the violent murder of his own mother after tread patterns from his trainers was matched to marks on her body. ‘Growing demand’ sees Emerald Airlines operate new service between Cork and Glasgow

A NEW service between Cork Airport and Glasgow Airport has been announced to meet the 'growing demand' for travel between Ireland and Scotland. On this day, Eamon de Valera abolished the Oath of Allegiance, a provisional aspect in the Anglo-Irish treaty of 1921. This provisional aspect originally required all members of the Irish parliament to take an oath declaring their allegiance to the King. This date also marked when de Valera withheld land annuities from England.
