Irish Ambassador Anne Anderson became the first women ever to be inducted into the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick last weekend, an organization that has had an exclusively male membership since it was founded in Philadelphia in 1771.

Irish Ambassador to the U.S. Anne Anderson will become the first female member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, an honorary role, at a St. Patrick’s Day dinner this year.
