Catherine’s Family

The Donnelly Family, Minooka, Pennsylvania, 1910.

Catherine Flannely was born in Porturlin, County Mayo, Ireland around 1835. She married Anthony Moran from the nearby village of Baralty. Catherine and Anthony immigrated to America in the 1860s and settled in a small coal mining town near Scranton, Pennsylvania. They had twelve children. She is pictured here, along with her daughter Mary Ann and son-in-law Edward Donnelly. Also pictured are some of the Donnelly children (two older boys are not in the picture and the two youngest children were not born yet), from left: Kathleen (my grandmother), Nellie, Anthony, Mildred, Edward, Carmella, and Gervaise. ♦

Carmela was my grandmother. She married Thomas McIntyre and they had three children, Thomas, Robert and John. All from Scranton, PA.
