Plans revealed to build €1bn Dracula-themed amusement park

PLANS to build a Dracula-themed amusement park have been revealed this week. The site, based on the mythical vampire created by the Irish author Bram Stoker, is set to be built in Romania. Man sentenced for running illegal bingo operation from his home

A MAN has been sentenced for running an illegal bingo operation from his home. Connor McAreavey, from Leeson Street in Belfast, previously pleaded guilty to organising or managing prohibited gaming and to possessing criminal property. Elderly woman dies in Co. Antrim house fire

AN ELDERLY woman has died in a house fire in Co. Antrim. Police were called to reports of a fire at a home in the Tansy Road area of Lisburn at around 6.30pm on December 15. Eight properties searched as garda probe assault which left woman with severe burns

EIGHT properties were searched in Dublin today as gardaí continue to investigate an assault which left a woman with serious burn injuries. Thomas Keneally, the Irish Australian author of Schindler’s Ark which would later become Schindler’s List, was born on this day in 1935 in Sydney, Australia. Keneally originally entered St. Patrick’s Seminary in the hopes of becoming a priest but left before he was ordained. He published Schindler’s Ark in 1982, which won him the Booker Prize and the notice of Steven Spielberg.
