Woman left shaken after being threatened with suspected handgun during robbery in Belfast

A WOMAN was threatened with a suspected handgun after she gave chase to a robber in Belfast. The woman was cut and left badly shaken by the incident, which occurred in the Ormeau Road area of south Belfast on Saturday afternoon. Woman in her 70s dies following collision in Co. Kilkenny

A WOMAN in her 70s has died following a collision in Co. Kilkenny. The two-vehicle collision occurred on the N25 at Luffany in Slieverue at approximately 5:50pm on Friday. Forrest Reid, Irish novelist and literary critic, was born on this day in Belfast in 1875. To this day, Reid is regarded amongst the likes of J.M. Barrie and Hugh Walpole as a pre-war British boyhood novelist. His most famous work was Young Tom, for which he won a James Tait Black Memorial Prize in 1944.
