Boy sustains life-threatening injuries after quad bike collision in Derry

A BOY has been left with life-threatening injuries following a collision involving a quad bike in Co. Derry. The 14-year-old was taken to hospital following the single-vehicle collision, which occurred in the Ballygudden Road area of Eglington at around 11.30am on Tuesday. Pair sentenced over ‘savage’ assault that left Belfast man with live-changing injuries

TWO men have been sentenced for their role in a 'savage' assault that left the victim with life-changing injuries. On this day, Eamon de Valera abolished the Oath of Allegiance, a provisional aspect in the Anglo-Irish treaty of 1921. This provisional aspect originally required all members of the Irish parliament to take an oath declaring their allegiance to the King. This date also marked when de Valera withheld land annuities from England.
