POLICE are appealing for information after a man had part of both ears bitten off in an assault in Co. Antrim. Catholic priest keeps job after reportedly claiming Jesus died with an erection

A CATHOLIC PRIEST has reportedly kept his job despite shocking parishioners by telling them that Jesus died with an erection. Arrest after aggravated burglary by man armed with axe and knife

POLICE have made an arrest following a report of an aggravated burglary in Co. Down involving a man armed with an axe and a knife. The man swung the weapons at a person inside a property in the Church Walk area of Kircubbin at around 9.55 on Saturday. Co. Carlow hit-and-run now being treated as murder investigation

AN INVESTIGATION into a fatal hit-and-run in Co. Carlow last month has been upgraded to a murder inquiry. The collision involving a car and a motorcycle occurred at Sandbrook, Ballon at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, April 24. On this day in 1816, Dublin born playwright and politician Richard Brinsley Sheridan died in London. Sheridan was a member of the British House of Commons and is best remembered for his plays “A Trip to Scarborough,” “The Rivals,” and “The School for Scandal.” He was very well respected by his contemporaries and is buried at the Poet’s Corner at Westminster Abbey.
