WEATHER warnings have been issued for a number of counties in Ireland as “significant snowfall" is expected overnight. Man wanted for offences committed in Monaghan extradited from Northern Ireland

A MAN wanted to stand trial in the Republic of Ireland has been extradited from Northern Ireland. The 33-year-old is wanted for offences committed in Monaghan in 2020 and 2021. Witness appeal after man seriously assaulted in afternoon attack

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a man was attacked in broad daylight in a street in Co. Kildare. The ban restricting Catholics from attending Trinity College Dublin is finally lifted on this day in 1970. Through the help of the then Archbishop of Dublin John McQuaid, the Roman Catholic church removes its policy of disapproval or even excommunication for Catholics who enrolled at Trinity College without the proper permission. Authorities at the school also allow for a Catholic chaplain to be based at the college.
