Jailan Griffiths is Vice President and Global Head of Purpose at Nasdaq, where she leads the company’s strategy to empower economic opportunity through philanthropy, community engagement, and strategic partnerships. She also serves as President of the Nasdaq Foundation, which is focused on transforming investor engagement and building better pathways for broader market participation – supporting financial education, small business growth, and place-based economic development to help more communities shape their financial futures.
Jailan chairs the board of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, where she champions programs that support emerging founders and strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Before joining Nasdaq in 2016, she held senior marketing roles at Dow Jones and Thomson Financial, including leading global marketing for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Enterprise products. She holds a Master of Arts (Hons) in History from The University of Edinburgh.
Half Arabic, half Irish, Jailan hails from Derry. She’s an avid supporter of Irish sports teams, Tayto crisps and the family’s love of golf takes them home whenever they can. Jailan lives in Maplewood, NJ, with her husband, David, and children Henry, Annabel, and Megan.
