Antrim revealed as winner of Best Kept Town in Ireland title

ANTRIM has been revealed at the winner of the Best Kept Town in Ireland title for 2026. The Northern Irish town was named the overall winner in the annual all island competition at a ceremony held at Riddel Hall in Belfast this week. Former Welsh rugby international Amanda Bennett will lead Rowing Ireland review

Doctors across Northern Ireland begin 24-hour strike over pay

DOCTORS across Northern Ireland have begun a 24-hour strike today over pay. Consultants and Specialist and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors are taking part in the industrial action, which began at 7am this morning and will continue until 7am tomorrow. July 25th marks the feast of St. James in the liturgical calendar of the Roman Catholic Church. Dubliners celebrate this day by holding an annual drinking festival, which has been a tradition since the medieval era. Likewise, Irish pilgrims who choose to honor St. James and walk the Santiago de Compostela in Spain, often leave from St. James’s Gate in Dublin, where the Guinness factory is fittingly located.
