Drivers offered grants of up to €8.5k to switch to electric vehicles

THE Irish Government will give drivers grants of up to €8,500 to help them switch from traditional cars to electric vehicles. Community shares sadness over closure of popular Irish pub in London

THE Irish community in London has shared its sadness this week after a popular pub which held regular trad music sessions was closed suddenly. A FEMALE police officer has been appointed Belfast Area Commander for the first time. Youths arrested after cannabis and e-scooter seized in Dublin park

THREE youths have been arrested in Dublin after Garda seized a bag full of cannabis and an electric scooter. Ireland welcomes ‘historic milestone’ as EU accession talks with Moldova and Ukraine set to begin

On this day, Eamon de Valera abolished the Oath of Allegiance, a provisional aspect in the Anglo-Irish treaty of 1921. This provisional aspect originally required all members of the Irish parliament to take an oath declaring their allegiance to the King. This date also marked when de Valera withheld land annuities from England.
