A YOUNG man has died following a collision in Co. Wexford. The single vehicle incident happened on the R702 near Curraghgraigue in Enniscorthy at around 11.30am yesterday morning (May 18). A RENEWED appeal has been issued this week following a collision in Donegal which left two men dead and four other people in need of hospital treatment. Funding secured to keep Croagh Patrick path ‘fit for purpose’

On this day, Eamon de Valera abolished the Oath of Allegiance, a provisional aspect in the Anglo-Irish treaty of 1921. This provisional aspect originally required all members of the Irish parliament to take an oath declaring their allegiance to the King. This date also marked when de Valera withheld land annuities from England.
