A WEATHER advisory has been issued across Ireland as Storm Éowyn has been named. ‘A true gentleman’: Funeral confirmed for popular barman killed in Cork collision

THE funeral will take place today for a popular barman who was killed in a collision in Co. Cork this month. Marco da Costa was involved in a single car collision on the N71 in Clonakilty town at around 12.15am on January 14. A PENSIONER is in hospital being treated for burns and smoke inhalation after her home was targeted in an overnight arson attack. The 50th anniversary of Fleadh Nua took place in Ennis, Co. Clare, drawing thousands of traditional music fans from around the world. Fleadh Nua, which promotes Irish traditional music and culture, is one of many festivals that take place in Ireland during the summer, but it is credited with being the premier event of its kind. The Fleadh began in Dublin in 1970, where it was held in Croke Park, but it has been held annually in May in Ennis since 1974. The ever-growing event now takes place over 9 days and features concerts, singing, dancing and other performances.
