Funeral to be held for teenager who died in Derry collision

A TEENAGER who died in single-vehicle collision in Co. Derry this week is to be laid to rest on Monday. Noah Karran, 18, passed away following the incident at 9am on Thursday on the Learmount Road in Park, near Claudy. Irish lawyer Pat Finucane who was murdered at home by loyalist paramilitaries from the Ulster Defence Association on February 12, 1989.

Back in February 1989, George H.W. Bush had just succeeded Ronald Reagan as U.S. president. Margaret Thatcher was the British prime minister, and the conflict in Northern Ireland had another decade to run. A MOTORCYCLIST has died after being involved in a single vehicle collision in Donegal. Actor Liam Neeson was born William John Neeson on this day in 1952 in Co. Antrim. Neeson worked several jobs, such as a forklift operator for Guinness, before joining the Belfast Lyric Players’ Theater. He eventually moved to work at Dublin’s Abbey Theater, where he performed in many of the classics. After his role in Suspect (1987), Neeson began to star in many more films. He was picked to play the role of Oskar Schindler in Spielberg’s 1993 Schindler’s List. He was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Academy Award. Neeson was also nominated for a Tony award. Liam Neeson has starred in several films in which he had a connection with his roots, such as Rob Roy and Michael Collins.
