A DUAL Dutch-Irish national has been charged with firearms offences after he was stopped at the Port of Dover, with police seizing a number of weapons and ammunition. Khalid Ahmed, 24, of Ealing, West London, was charged on Tuesday, March 31, with 10 counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, contrary to section 5 of the Firearms Act, 1968. Two arrested after early-morning arson attack in Co. Down

TWO people have been arrested after an early-morning arson attack on a house in Co. Down. At around 1.15am today, a window was smashed and a petrol bomb thrown into the property in the Manse Court area of Saintfield, causing it to catch fire. Boy, 16, appears in court charged with murder of man in Co. Tipperary

A TEENAGE boy has appeared in court after being charged with the murder of a man in Co. Tipperary last year. Riots broke out in Londonderry after mid-Ulster MP Bernadette Devlin was arrested. Devlin, who participated in the Bogside riots of 1969, was sentenced to six months in jail. She had previously applied for an appeal, which was rejected by the Northern Ireland Court of Appeals. When police attempted to arrest Devlin at a roadblock in Londonderry, violence quickly escalated with the use of petrol bombs to which soldiers responded with tear gas.
