Ireland deports men, women and children on chartered flight to Nigeria

IRELAND has deported 35 people to Nigeria on a chartered flight from Dublin Airport. Garda hospitalised after ‘vicious assault’ by disruptive passenger on flight to Dublin

A GARDA was hospitalised after being assaulted by a disruptive passenger who arrived in Dublin on a flight from the US. On June 3, the captain and crew of a United Airlines flight from Newark reported a disruptive passenger on board. Witness appeal after deaths of two people in Galway house fire

GARDAÍ have appealed for witnesses to come forward after two people died in a house fire in Connemara, Co. Galway. Officers and members of the fire service were called to reports of a fire at a home at Gleann Mhic Mhuireann in Casla at around 6.20am on June 3. Anne Maeve Binchy was born in Dalkey, County Dublin. Known to the world as Maeve Binchy, she would go on to become a revered novelist, playwright, short story writer, columnist and speaker. Binchy was beloved for her descriptive characters and charmingly humorous portrayals of life in Ireland. Her novels sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. She died in 2012 at the age of 73.
