A TEENAGER has been arrested after a woman in her 70s was injured during an incident in Co. Clare in which her car was stolen. The incident occurred at a residential premises in Firhill, Parteen at around 6.15pm on Friday. Co. Galway pair jailed over counterfeit cash scam across England as warrant issued for third man

TWO men from Co. Galway have been jailed over their role in a counterfeit cash scam carried out across England. Anne Maeve Binchy was born in Dalkey, County Dublin. Known to the world as Maeve Binchy, she would go on to become a revered novelist, playwright, short story writer, columnist and speaker. Binchy was beloved for her descriptive characters and charmingly humorous portrayals of life in Ireland. Her novels sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. She died in 2012 at the age of 73.
