Memorial service for Billy Lawless to be held at Galway Cathedral

A MEMORIAL service will be held in Galway next month to honour the life of Billy Lawless. The former senator, who was born in Rahoon, Co. Galway, died on November 8 at the age of 73. A MAN has been arrested in connection with the disappearance and murder of Josephine ‘Jo Jo’ Dullard. The 21-year-old went missing after hitch-hiking home to Co. Three children injured in collision in Derry

THREE children were injured when two cars collided in Co. Derry. Police were called to the incident in Magherafelt at around 9pm on November 10. June 4, 1820

On June 4, 1820, Henry Grattan, outstanding orator and dominant figure in the Irish parliament, died. Grattan entered the Irish Parliament in December 1775. He was the leader of the Patriot movement that won legislative independence for Ireland in 1782. Later he headed opposition to the union of England and Ireland. Grattan spent the last 15 years of his life on the British House of Commons after being elected in 1805.
