FIVE teenagers were injured when a car they were travelling in was involved in a collision in the early hours of the morning. The incident happened on the N5 at Deerpark near Swinford in Co. Two men arrested after drugs worth €862k found on flights from Thailand to Dublin

TWO men have been arrested at Dublin Airport after luggage containing cannabis worth €862k was found on separate flights from Thailand to Dublin. TRIBUTES have been paid to a father-of-two who was killed in a collision in Co. Clare over the Bank Holiday weekend. Ireland experienced 1100 excess deaths during Covid-19 pandemic, report reveals

A NEW report estimates that Ireland experienced excess deaths of 1100 people during the Covid-19 pandemic. The figures, published in a report of The Society of Actuaries in Ireland's Demography Committee, refer to deaths in the years 2020 and 2021. Legendary actor and Oscar winner Gregory Peck died on this day in 2003. Peck, who’s grandmother Catherine Ashe came from Dingle, studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and debuted in his first Broadway show The Morning Star after graduation. His role in The Keys of the Kingdom in 1944 won him an Academy Award nomination. He became well known for his rugged screen presence and was often cast as the hero, especially in westerns. He starred opposite Audrey Hepburn in her first film Roman Holiday. Peck finally won the Oscar for his role as Atticus Finch in 1962’s To Kill a Mockingbird.
