Sheila Langan

December 22, 2011 by Leave a Comment

Sheila Langan is Irish America’s deputy editor. She joined the magazine in 2010, first working as an editorial assistant and then as assistant editor. She has interviewed actors Gabriel Byrne and Brendan Gleeson, Booker prize-winning Irish authors Anne Enright and John Banville, poet Meghan O’Rourke, and Bob Savage and Nanette Lepore, the husband-and-wife team behind the label Nanette Lepore.

Sheila graduated from Bard College with a BA in literature. There, she completed an undergraduate thesis on visual art in John Banville’s novels and worked with the Bard Prison Initiative, tutoring inmates working towards college degrees. A first-generation Irish American, she spent every summer of her childhood in Abbeydorney, a small town outside of Tralee, Co. Kerry.

Hi Sheila, I’d love to talk with you about my new novel, “Paddy’s Day in Trump Town,” a bleak and disturbing story of Irish-American bigotry and love. I’m a longtime journalist who takes my privilege as a white, male Irish American very seriously. All the best, Steve https://www.amazon.com/Paddys-Trump-Town-Steve-Corbett/dp/1936936186/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&qid=1596830619&refinements=p_27%3ASteve+Corbett&s=books&sr=1-1
