On Monday, April 18 at 2:00 pm the Irish American Artists Writers & Artists will present “Centenary Salon – 100 Years on from the Irish War for Independence” on YouTube hosted by Sean O’Dowd.

The presentation will include the following conversations and musical performances:

“Looking Back 100 Years” by Máirtín Ó Muilleoir, Director of Belfast Media Group and former lord mayor of Belfast

Musical performance by Eddie Boles, FDNY Battalion Chief

A Fireside chat with Dr. Christine Kinealy regarding Irish Patriot/Legend Maud Gonne

“Historical Reflections of the War of Independence” with Dr. Conor McNamara, Lecturer/Author & Dr. Siobhra Aiken Professor/Historian

“Remembering the 1922 World Congress in Paris of the Irish Race” by Turlough McConnell and Cormac O’Malley

Musical Performance by Mary Courtney

“The Raid” by Seán O’Casey performed by Anto Seery

Jack Yeats Derrynane which is now housed at the shuddered Irish Great Hunger Museum in Hamden, CT.

Note: As part of their discussion on the 1922 Congress of the Irish Race in Paris, which ran between January 21st and 28th, 1922, and included lectures, concerts, and plays (Synge’s Riders to the Sea), and an exhibition of Irish visual arts featuring works by Jack B Yeats, Harry Clarke, Sean Keating, Sarah Purser, Lily Yeats, Mary Swanzy, John Lavery, and Paul Henry, Turlough McConnell and Cormac O’Malley will discuss Jack Yeats painting  “Derrynane” which is now shuttered at Ireland’s Great Hunger Museum in Hamden, CT.
