Let the Canary Sing World Premiere

Music icon, Cyndi Lauper’s “Let The Canary Sing” feature documentary will have its world premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Festival. The screening will take place at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on Wednesday, June 14 and will include a performance by Lauper, the legendary singer, songwriter, actor and activist who rose to fame in the 1980s with a string of pop hits such as “Girls Just Want to have Fun,” “Time After Time,” and “True Colors.”
LET THE CANARY SING is a Fine Point Films production, produced by Trevor Birney, Eimhear O’Neill and Andrew Tully. Directed by Alison Ellwood, the documentary is billed as a big-hearted and joyous look at the life and career of Lauper – from her humble beginnings in Queens to her ascension in the ’80s music scene.
Trevor Birney is an Irish award-winning producer, director, journalist and founder of Fine Point Films whose films include Bojayá: Caught in the Crossfire, Bobby Sands: 66 Days, Gaza, Mercury 13.
