On Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, Glucksman Ireland House NYU will hold its 12th annual dinner gala at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Manhattan.

The Gala, an annual fixture on the New York calendar, celebrates the best in Irish literature and arts, journalism, and philanthropy. Proceeds from the event support student resources, the publication of leading research through the Glucksman Irish Diaspora Series with NYU Press, dynamic public lectures and events, and the documentation of Irish American experiences through the Archives of Irish America.

Glucksman Ireland House celebrates the achievements of the Irish-American community through three awards: The Seamus Heaney Award for Arts & Letters, the Lewis L. Glucksman Award for Leadership, and the Pete Hamill Award for Journalistic Excellence. 

2024 Honorees

Lewis L. Glucksman Award for Leadership:

Mike O’Halleran, CEO and Executive Chairman of Geneva Re Limited.

Seamus Heaney Award for Arts & Letters:

Claire Keegan, Internationally Acclaimed Writer.

Pete Hamill Award for Journalism Excellence:

Peggy Noonan, Wall Street Journal Columnist, and Pulitzer Prize Winner.

    When I queried the name “Claire Keegan” the author of “Foster” and “Small Things Like these.” I didn’t find any infprmation. Why is this so?
