Music and Parades Around the United States

It would not be Irish Heritage Month without Irish music and parades to celebrate.

For the past 34 years, Brendan Dunphy has compiled a list of festivities from Ireland to New York, to San Francisco. It does not matter where you live, Brendan has found a place to help you celebrate Irish Heritage month and St. Patrick’s Day.

You can follow Brendan on Facebook at facebook.com/stpatricksdayseason. To view and download Brendan’s list of all of the upcoming celebrations for Irish Heritage Month and St. Patrick’s Day click here.

If you are in the New England area or planning a trip to Boston or New England, visit Boston Irish Tourism Association to learn about tours, cultural venues, shopping, and restaurants to visit.

Our friends at BITA have also compiled a list of St. Patrick’s Day parades taking place from March 1st to March 30th from Connecticut to New Hampshire and locations in between. The Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade celebration, which annually attracts some 400,000 viewers, takes place today, Sunday, March 23.  Click HERE for information on this year’s festivities. For a feature on the history of Holyoke and its annual spectacular celebration of Irish heritage see: “Holyoke’s Irish Heart” by Patricia Harty.

Cherish the Ladies Celebrate 40 Years

The Grammy-nominated Cherish the Ladies has captivated audiences worldwide for four decades as one of the most celebrated Irish music ensembles in history.

Led by flute and whistle virtuoso and Irish America Hall of Fame member Joanie Madden, Cherish the Ladies have played from the White House to the Olympics, and famous concert halls around the world.

Cherish the Ladies will spend Irish Heritage Month touring from Texas to the Northeast and Mid Atlantic with some shows already sold out.

Visit Cherish the Ladies to find a venue near you and purchase your tickets before they sell out.
